Designed for all levels of dancers, Belly Dance Anatomy teaches the basics of skeletal and muscle anatomy with a focus on joints and muscles most often used during belly dance techniques. Whether you are an instructor seeking a better understanding to aid in your teaching, or a performer who has suffered a dance injury and you want to know the anatomy that was involved this class is for you.
Niffer is a Doctor of Physical Therapy, and a belly dancer with 13 years of clinical experience. She has studied primarily FCBD and World Caravan techniques since 2005 and is currently a member of Deep Roots Dance, performing joyful group improvisational, folkloric, and fusion styles. She has also participated in a variety of classes and workshops of other MENATH dance styles. Niffer brings with her a melding of her education as a PT, clinical experience working with musculoskeletal and neurological injuries, and experience as a dancer/performer to answer your questions about what makes dance movement happen
This workshop will be a 2-hour live stream, primarily lecture format with some examples of movement. Areas covered will be core/trunk musculoskeletal anatomy, and limb anatomy with links to movements. There will be a break mid-way, and time for Q&A at the end of the workshop.
All registrants will have access to the workshop recording for one week following the workshop, to allow you to review your notes and the content at your own pace.

Bellydance Anatomy with Niffer of DRD
Niffer will be teaching the basics of skeletal and muscle anatomy for understanding dance movement in a live stream 2-hour workshop. Drawing from 13 years of experience as a Doctor of Physical Therapy, and 14 years of FCBD and World Caravan style dance, she will put together what happens under the skin to form the shape and flow of movement dancers create with their bodies.
